Dance Now! Ensemble. Celebration of Light From Dec 13th through 14th, 2008 Inspired by the common theme present in many of the winter holidays, the Dance Now! Ensemble presents an evening of dance reflecting on light, both in its literal and metaphorical significance. Through the choreography of co-directors, Hannah Baumgarten and Diego Salterini, the meaning and aesthetics of light and color, light’s effect on mood and emotions, as well as introspective journeys leading to enlightenment, are subjects of this world premiere performance. In a time when many find ourselves seeking spiritual and moral guidance in unconventional, esoteric, even sometimes commercial avenues, we find the “light” in our heritages and backgrounds, in our internal searches, and in the impact we have on each other as human beings. Dance Now! Ensemble continues to inspire audiences with its unique and eclectic style of modern contemporary dance. Taking a departure from the Nutcracker as the traditional dance fare available for the holidays, Celebration of Light premieres at the Colony Theatre in Miami Beach, on December 13th and 14th, 2008.
